Abstract
〖WT5”FZ〗 Previous studies resulted in an improved nonslagging spoutingcyclone combus to r with twostage combustion in perpendicular vortex flows, developed for clean coal combustion in small industrial furnaces and domestic furnaces. An isotherma l model test and a combustion test give encouraging results. The temperature an d gas composition in the combustion experiments were measured using thermocoupl es and a COSA6000CD portable stack analyzer. The combustion temperature dist ribution was uniform. The geometry was compared further to provide stronger rec i rculation in the spouting zone and a strong swirling effect in the cyclone zone. These results indicate that the improved geometrical configuration of the combustor favors to the stabilization of the coal flame and intensified coal combustion, and it provides a basis for practi cal application of this technique.
